London event to feature collaboration between CIBSE and UK Construction Week for crucial Net Zero insights
In a joint effort to drive sustainability within the construction industry and advance the transition to net-zero carbon buildings, UK Construction Week (UKCW) and the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) have announced a new partnership for their upcoming event at ExCeL London from 7-9 May 2025.
As part of this collaboration, CIBSE, the leading professional body representing the building services engineering profession, will contribute valuable content to the Net Zero Hub, a central feature of the UKCW event. This will include discussions on crucial topics such as the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard.
According to Neil Gaisford, Divisional Director of Construction at UK Construction Week, the partnership with CIBSE is a perfect alignment of their mission to foster innovation, sustainability, and knowledge exchange within the construction sector. He expresses excitement for CIBSE’s extensive expertise in the built environment and their leadership in advancing the Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard, which will bring essential insights to the event.
The collaboration highlights the growing importance of cross-sector collaboration in addressing the challenges of climate change and promoting sustainable building practices. With UKCW focusing on key industry themes such as net-zero strategies, energy efficiency, and green building standards, CIBSE’s participation will provide a vital platform for discussions and practical guidance on achieving sustainability goals.
The Net Zero Hub, a central feature of the UKCW event, will serve as a space for professionals to explore innovative solutions and gain insights into the future of carbon-neutral buildings, with contributions from CIBSE and other industry leaders.
Julie Godefroy, CIBSE Head of Net Zero, expresses delight in the partnership, stating that it aligns perfectly with key themes of interest to their members and provides an opportunity to engage with a wider audience.
