Hudson’s Field Nursery Celebrates “Good” Ofsted Rating

Hudson’s Field Nursery has proudly announced that it has been awarded a “Good” rating by Ofsted, a recognition of its dedication to delivering high-quality early years education.

This achievement follows the nursery’s first inspection since its establishment in September 2023. The report highlights the successful implementation of a strong key worker system, an ambitious curriculum, and positive partnerships with parents and the wider community.

Ofsted particularly praised the nursery’s approach to fostering children’s communication and language skills, noting that learning is “expertly enriched to extend, challenge and stretch children’s knowledge and understanding of the world.” The report also highlighted the nursery’s commitment to respecting children’s rights, wishes, and feelings, as well as the strong support provided for children with disabilities and special educational needs.

Hudson’s Field Nursery sets itself apart by combining structured learning with active community engagement. The nursery has built strong links with local organisations, including Fairfax House Care Home and Hudson’s Field Rugby Club, and frequently arranges visits to Finkley Down Farm. Additionally, it sponsors Salisbury FC’s Under-10s girls’ football team.

The nursery offers a range of facilities designed to support diverse learning experiences. These include a soft play area, sensory and role-play rooms, and an extensive outdoor space. A strong emphasis is placed on cultural capital, celebrating the diverse backgrounds of children and their families through events such as stay-and-play sessions, a barbecue party, and community book-sharing initiatives.
