Thinktank, Birmingham Science Museum set to host upcoming Human Space Flight Exhibition

Birmingham, UK – An exciting new exhibition, showcasing one of the largest private collections of space artefacts in the UK, is set to open at Thinktank, Birmingham Science Museum on Saturday, June 14, 2025.

The Space Vault Exhibition will feature rare and historic objects recovered from the lunar surface, low-Earth orbit, and outer space, spanning from NASA’s Apollo missions to the American and Russian space shuttle programs, the International Space Station, and SpaceX. This announcement coincides with the 60th anniversary of cosmonaut Alexey Leonov’s historic first spacewalk, which took place on March 18, 1965.

Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to explore 12 curated stories of human space exploration through immersive visuals and unique artefacts. Among the items on display will be the mission checklists that saved the crew of Apollo 13, Commander Dave Scott’s spacesuit umbilical, and Lunar dust from the Hadley Rille landing site of Apollo 15.

In addition to the exhibition, Thinktank will also be hosting various space-themed events, including “space lates” that utilize the museum’s planetarium to delve deeper into the stories behind the objects. There will also be a “cinema in the stars” showing the greatest space movies.

General admission to the Space Vault Exhibition will be included in the admission price for Thinktank, Birmingham Science Museum.
