“Berlin Welcomes Europe’s Biggest Tech and Startup Event, Fueling Momentum for Open Innovation and AI Excellence on the Continent”

GITEX EUROPE x Ai Everything, the largest inaugural tech, startup, and digital investment event in Europe, opened its doors on Wednesday May 21, 2025 at Messe Berlin. The event was inaugurated by Ministers and senior tech stakeholders from the European Union, Germany, and the UAE, making it a momentous occasion.

The event comes at a pivotal point in Europe’s digital future, with a continent-wide “Choose Europe” movement promoting innovation, research, investment, talent, and deep-tech breakthroughs. Germany has also shown its commitment to digital transformation, with the formation of a new government and the country’s first digital ministry taking charge of AI excellence and data policy.

GITEX, the world’s largest and best-rated tech and startup event, originated in the UAE and now has editions in seven countries. Its expansion into Europe reflects the UAE’s dedication to global digital collaboration. This vision is further reinforced by recent developments such as Abu Dhabi’s MGX investment and the partnership between Nvidia and Abu Dhabi to develop Europe’s largest AI data center campus and a new 5GW AI campus.

The opening ceremony was attended by over 100 countries, 1,400 tech companies, startups, and SMEs, as well as over 600 influential investors and 500 industry leaders. The event sparked discussions on innovation, investment, policy shifts, and business transformations, and facilitated collaborations across sectors and geographies. GITEX EUROPE x Ai Everything 2025 is organized in partnership with the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises, Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, Berlin Partner for Business and Technology, and the European Innovation Council (EIC).

The event was kicked off by welcome addresses from European and global leaders, including Kai Wegner, Governing Mayor of Berlin; H.E. Alia Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of State for Entrepreneurship; Clara Chappaz, the Minister of AI and Digital of France; Thomas Jarzombek, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Minister for Digital and State Modernization, Germany; Jan Kavalírek, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Czech Republic; Franziska Giffey, Mayor of Berlin & Senator for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises; and Trixie LohMirmand, EVP of Dubai World Trade Centre, the global organizer of GITEX.

The event features over 750 startups from 60 countries, including global tech enterprises such as IBM, AWS, Bosch, Cisco, CrowdStrike, Dell, Fortinet, Lenovo, ManageEngine, NinjaOne, NVIDIA, and SAP. The opening day’s conference program was headlined by Dr. Geoffrey Hinton, Nobel Physics Laureate and ‘Godfather of AI,’ with a keynote on ‘AI for Humanity’s Greatest Challenges.’

In April 2025, the UAE and the European Union announced the beginning of dialogue toward a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), aimed at strengthening bilateral trade and investment ties in key sectors such as AI, advanced manufacturing, and healthcare.

GITEX EUROPE x Ai Everything leverages a powerful network of established relationships in tech, policy, investment, and business spanning four regions and seven countries, with more new international editions in the works. The GITEX global network of events currently takes place in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Germany, Morocco, Nigeria, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
