ChangeX Enhances ServiceNow Community Improvement Fund to Tackle Decarbonisation in the UK
On Wednesday 2 April, 2025, ChangeX announced the expansion of the ServiceNow Community Improvement Fund to eight markets, providing funding for community projects focused on decarbonisation. Nonprofits and schools in the United Kingdom, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, Germany, Ireland, and the US are eligible to apply for this funding opportunity.
The collaboration between ChangeX and ServiceNow is committed to promoting sustainable development and creating thriving communities around the world. This is the third year of their partnership, with ServiceNow’s total investment to date reaching nearly $2 million. Since the collaboration began in 2023, it has supported 53 community projects across nine countries, including recycling initiatives, micro forests, solar energy projects, and educational programs.
The 2025 ServiceNow Community Improvement Fund will provide funding for nonprofits and schools in the United Kingdom to start or expand community projects focused on decarbonisation. Applicants can submit their own project idea or choose from a selection of proven high-impact climate ideas that have already had a positive social or environmental impact in other communities around the world.
Two of the proven ideas that applicants can choose from are Ecosystem Restoration Communities (ERC) and Precious Plastic. ERC focuses on “regreening” the planet by rebuilding soil, fixing water systems, and increasing local biodiversity on degraded land. Precious Plastic aims to reduce plastic waste by encouraging communities to recycle plastic and turn it into valuable products.
Lyndsay Harris-Kyei, vice president of global impact and sustainability at ServiceNow, stated, “At ServiceNow, we are committed to making the world work better for everyone. Through the ServiceNow Community Improvement Fund, we proudly invest in organizations that prioritize decarbonisation within our local communities, thereby advancing us towards a more sustainable future.”
Paul O’Hara, chief executive at ChangeX, said, “ChangeX is proud to continue and deepen our collaboration with ServiceNow in our shared mission to empower communities to tackle climate change. We have witnessed the power of community-driven initiatives to drive real change. By deepening our collaboration, we can further support local changemakers, driving even greater and more lasting impact.”
Organizations across the United Kingdom can apply for funding from ChangeX. The application deadline is May 8. For more information and details on how to apply, please visit: https://bit.ly/4hXRIUj.
