Data and Technology Transform Care: Exemplar Health Care’s Collaboration with Radar Healthcare

Last Updated on:

Radar Healthcare and Exemplar Health Care have strengthened their partnership to transform care quality through innovative technology. Radar Healthcare’s platform offers a unified system for streamlined processes, delivering advanced data insights that improve safety and wellbeing in care settings.

Leaders at Exemplar Health Care praised the partnership’s impact, citing improvements in evidence-based decision-making, enhanced reporting cultures, and better outcomes for residents.

Mark Henry, Head of Behavioural Support and Mental Health at Exemplar Health Care, said: “Since implementing Radar Healthcare, we can provide support to the services much faster than before. For example, as a complex care provider, many of the people we support display behaviours of concern. Whereas before, we didn’t get central oversight of incidents, we now get real-time alerts and have access to data at our fingertips, so we can respond quicker, analyse trends and make evidence-based decisions. Using the data to reduce these incidents has significantly improved people’s quality of life.”

Key outcomes from this partnership include:

Improved Resident Quality of Life: Faster reporting and response times have reduced serious incidents, improving health and wellbeing.
Efficient Data Collection and Reporting: A 64% rise in incidents reported in FY24 versus FY23, replacing outdated paper-based systems.
Real-Time Care Monitoring: Over 1 million interactions tracked yearly, enabling immediate action and enhanced support.
Reduced Aggression and Restraint Incidents: Achieved a 50% reduction in restraint incidents year-on-year, with fewer related injuries.
Simplified Document Management: A centralised system now ensures easy access to policies across the organisation.
Improved Staff Feedback: Frontline staff noted significant improvements in the reporting of incidents and complaints.

Exemplar Health Care adopted Radar Healthcare six years ago, moving from paper-based systems to a digital platform that reduced risks and improved efficiency. Helen Baxendale, Clinical Director, noted, “complaints and compliments, now reported organisation-wide, bring positive affirmations to executive and board meetings.”

Digitisation has revolutionised health and safety audits, as highlighted by James Haggarty, Head of Health and Safety: “our health and safety audit objectives have been met and exceeded, with the new system much easier to navigate.”

Mark Henry emphasised the ease of accessing real-time data, saying, “the biggest benefit is the speed of information. Previously, collating paper records took weeks; now, it’s just three clicks.”

Jenna Wood, Head of Marketing, detailed the benefits of Radar Healthcare’s Document Management System: “allowing centralised policy management and easy access to the most up-to-date documentation, with clear version control and the ability to track whether colleagues have read and accepted updates.”

Helen Baxendale concluded, “the investment into Radar Healthcare is totally justified.” James Haggarty added, “Radar Healthcare is the platform for a healthcare organisation.”
