“Emotional Impact: An Inspiring Reaction to the Feelings Are Real Exhibit at Barbican Library”

On Monday, February 10th, 2025, self-taught artists stevexoh and jdwoof, also known as Art Babies, launched their highly anticipated exhibition, “Feelings are Real”. The exhibition, which celebrates mark making as a therapeutic practice, has received high praise from visitors over the first few days.

Featuring a collection of drawings, paintings, paper cuttings, etchings, and objects, the exhibit showcases the artists’ work over the past three years. Steve and Jo use their art as a way to make sense of their feelings, addressing personal moments of sadness, anxiety, confusion, wonder, love, fear, loss, and hope. This is the first time their work has been presented as a collection, with the intention of providing support and connection to viewers.

Visitors have described the exhibition as “emotional, intriguing, familiar and new, provoking and engaging, menacing and mischievous.” Many have expressed that it is one of the most moving and inspiring art experiences they have had in a long time. One visitor stated, “I’ve never felt so identified with and understood by artwork before.”

The exhibit, which runs until February 27th, 2025, is being held at the Barbican Library in Central London. More information about the exhibit can be found on the artists’ website, www.artbabies.co.uk. In addition, an interview with Steve and Jo discussing the exhibition and the importance of therapeutic mark making can be found on their website.

The “Feelings are Real” exhibition is being distributed by https://pressat.co.uk/. Visitors are encouraged to come and experience this compassionate and relatable conversation between the artists.
