“Global Ecological Transition Takes Center Stage at Ecomondo 2025: IEG Emphasizes International Focus”

Rimini (Italy), May 20, 2025 – Ecomondo, the leading event for the green, blue, and circular economy in Europe and the Mediterranean basin, will return to Rimini Expo Center from November 4th to 7th. The event, organized by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), aims to combine business growth with environmental and social protection by promoting ethical and inclusive development models. Ecomondo acts as a go-between, fostering dialogue between industries, institutions, and the world of research. The 28th edition of Ecomondo, the most ambitious yet, will strengthen its international presence and solidify its role as a global platform and hub for the circular economy and ecological transition.

In 2025, Ecomondo will focus on countries such as Germany, Spain, Poland, Serbia, Turkey, the Netherlands, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and the Middle East. This international reach will be supported by SAL.VE, the biennial Exhibition of Ecological Vehicles, held in partnership with ANFIA.

The event will also host the States General of the Green Economy, organized by the Sustainable Development Foundation and promoted by the National Council for the Green Economy, in collaboration with the Ministry for the Environment and Energy Security and with the patronage of the European Commission.

According to Alessandra Astolfi, IEG’s Global Exhibition Director of the Green & Technology Division, the 2025 edition of Ecomondo will span 166,000 square meters, occupying 30 halls. The event will benefit from the synergy with the Italian Trade Agency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), and will welcome delegations from around the world in collaboration with 80 international sector associations. This confirms Ecomondo’s position as Europe’s leading event for innovative circular economy models.

To facilitate the attendance of European and international visitors, IEG will launch new direct flight connections from Munich and Rome to Rimini, operated by LuxWing. These flights will be available from November 4th to 7th, encouraging the participation of international operators in the local market.

In addition to its global networking role, Ecomondo will also showcase its international reach through the recently concluded editions of Ecomondo Mexico and Ecomondo China – CDEPE, and the upcoming Green Med Expo & Symposium in Naples from May 28th to 30th, 2025. All of these events will return in 2026.

The event will feature six themed macro areas, including Waste as Resource, Water Cycle & Blue Economy, Sites & Soil Restoration, Bioenergy & Agriculture, Earth Observation and Environmental Monitoring, and Circular and Regenerative Bio-Economy. Other focuses will include the Blue Economy District for marine ecosystems, Circular Healthy City for circular and healthy cities, the Paper District for sustainable paper design, the Textile District for ethical fashion, and the Trenchless District for No Dig technologies. The Innovation District will be the center of innovation, featuring an enhanced Start-Up & Scale-Up area and a focus on Green Jobs & Skills. The Lorenzo Cagnoni Award for Green Innovation will also be presented, recognizing the most revolutionary technologies in the various exhibition sectors.

The conference program at Ecomondo will be technology-intensive, featuring a packed calendar of conferences, seminars, and roundtables organized by the Technical-Scientific Committee. These discussions will delve into topics such as regulatory aspects, policies and regulations, the Next Generation EU plan, ecosystem restoration, the blue economy, the regenerative economy, AI, Digital Twin, new technologies, predictive resource management, bioenergy, satellite monitoring of environmental transformations and land management, finance, communication, and the circular economy and ecological transition in Africa and the Mediterranean basin.
