Ivanović, Swiss Ambassador Lugon-Moulin Hold Meeting
On Thursday 27 March, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović held a meeting with H. E. Anne Lugon-Moulin, Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation. Ambassador Lugon-Moulin, who is accredited on a non-resident basis with headquarters in Belgrade, was welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović to discuss further strengthening of bilateral relations between Montenegro and Switzerland.
During the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing the already strong ties between the two countries. Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović expressed gratitude for Switzerland’s continuous support in Montenegro’s foreign policy priorities, particularly in regards to European integration and regional development. Ambassador Lugon-Moulin commended Montenegro’s reform efforts and progress towards European Union membership.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for discussions on expanding bilateral cooperation. This includes the opening of the Embassy of Montenegro in Bern, which will contribute to strengthening political and economic ties between the two countries.
Economic cooperation was also a topic of discussion, as Switzerland has been one of the largest foreign investors in Montenegro over the past five years. The parties also explored opportunities to improve air connectivity between the two countries, taking into consideration the significant number of Swiss tourists visiting Montenegro and the sizable Montenegrin diaspora in Switzerland.
Regional and global issues were also addressed, with both parties emphasizing the importance of dialogue and cooperation in addressing shared challenges.
Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović concluded the meeting by thanking Ambassador Lugon-Moulin for their ongoing cooperation and expressing confidence that, through joint efforts, Montenegro and Switzerland will continue to strengthen their relations in all areas of mutual interest.
