Lockswood Care and Wellbeing Centre in Locks Heath Receives Volunteer Help in Revamping Its 20+ Year Old Building for Local Charity

Age Concern Hampshire, a charity dedicated to supporting the older community in Hampshire, has recently received a much-needed boost from corporate volunteers. On Sunday 18 May 2025, a team of employees from Simplyhealth generously volunteered their time to redecorate one of the offices at the Lockswood Care and Wellbeing Centre in Locks Heath.

The Lockswood Care and Wellbeing Centre provides essential services for older individuals, including those living with dementia, to promote social inclusion, wellbeing, and independence. It also offers a lifeline for unpaid carers by providing safe and secure respite for their loved ones.

The office in question had not been updated in over 20 years and was in dire need of some TLC. Thanks to the efforts of the Simplyhealth team, the space has been transformed into a welcoming and uplifting environment for staff and visitors at the centre.

Brogan Rehill, Head of Fundraising & Volunteer Services at Age Concern Hampshire, expressed their gratitude for the volunteers’ time, effort, and generosity. “Corporate volunteering like this really makes a difference, and we’d love to hear from other companies who want to help create a positive impact in their community as well as offering their teams a great opportunity to make a real difference.”

Charlotte Cook, ESG Lead at Simplyhealth, shared her team’s enjoyment in volunteering and the importance of recognizing and celebrating the work of charities like Age Concern Hampshire. She stated, “This was our way of saying thank you and we can’t wait to return.”
