OpenPayd Joins Industry Leaders at PAY360 to Discuss the Next Chapter in Embedded Finance

OpenPayd made its mark at PAY360, the UK’s flagship payments conference, as Barry O’Sullivan, Head of Banking and Payments Infrastructure, took the stage to explore the future of embedded finance.
PAY360 2025, held on March 25th and 26th at ExCeL London, stands as Europe’s premier payments event, drawing over 6,000 professionals from across the industry. The conference featured more than 200 global speakers and hosted 120+ exhibitors, creating a dynamic environment for networking, knowledge sharing, and showcasing the latest innovations in the payments sector.
The event’s agenda covered a wide array of topics pertinent to the evolving payments landscape. Key themes included navigating complex regulatory roadmaps, advancing open finance, combating financial crime, exploring global payment innovations, and harnessing artificial intelligence in financial services. These discussions provided attendees with valuable insights into current challenges and future opportunities within the industry.
The exhibition floor was a bustling hub of activity, featuring themed areas such as the Innovation and Disruption Zone. This space provided a stage for cutting-edge startups to demonstrate their products and services, fostering collaboration and sparking conversations about the future of payments. Another highlight was the “Fintechs Pitch LIVE” competition, which offered emerging fintech companies a platform to present their innovative solutions to a panel of esteemed judges and a live audience. Finalists showcased technologies aimed at revolutionising how people move, manage, and spend their money, as well as solutions enhancing regulatory technologies.
PAY360 2025 not only facilitated meaningful discussions and connections among industry leaders but also set the stage for future advancements in the payments ecosystem. The event underscored the importance of innovation, regulation, and collaboration in shaping the next chapter of financial services.
Speaking on a panel titled “The Golden Opportunity in Embedded Finance”, O’Sullivan underscored the shift from hype to real-world adoption. “The most successful embedded finance solutions are the ones you don’t notice—they just work,” he said. “For businesses, the value is in speed, simplicity, and being able to offer regulated services without rebuilding from scratch.”
The panel brought together voices from 11:FS, Runa, First Direct and The Payments Association. Together, they discussed how partnerships are driving the next phase of embedded finance—where financial services are deeply woven into digital experiences without adding operational complexity.
