Winners of the Pet Rescue Grant 2025 announced by animal welfare charity

Naturewatch Foundation, a UK-based animal welfare charity, has announced the recipients of its 2025 Pet Rescue Grant. This grant provides vital funding to animal rescues dedicated to rehabilitating dogs, cats, and rabbits affected by the illicit pet trade.

Now in its second year, the Pet Rescue Grant has awarded grants to four outstanding rescue organizations to aid their life-saving work. The Bunnyjackpot Foundation, Hope Rescue, Second Chance Spaniel Rescue, and Cat Supporters South Wales have each been granted funds to support their efforts in caring for and rehoming animals affected by the pet trade.

The Bunnyjackpot Foundation, located in South-West England, has been awarded £5,000 to support the care and rehoming of ten rescued rabbits, dubbed ‘The Naturewatch Ten.’ Hope Rescue, based in Wales, has received £5,000 to help with veterinary costs for dogs seized from illegal breeders. Second Chance Spaniel Rescue, which operates across the UK, has been granted £1,000 to fund the neutering of three ex-breeding spaniels. Cat Supporters South Wales has been awarded £1,000 to assist with veterinary care costs for stray and abandoned cats in South Wales.

Natalie Harney, Campaign Manager for Naturewatch Foundation, expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming response of 100 applications from animal rescues across the UK. She also highlighted the importance of the Pet Rescue Grant in providing support to organizations that often bear the costly and complex medical and welfare needs of animals affected by the pet trade.

Naturewatch Foundation is dedicated to tackling the exploitation of pets for profit through its campaigns and investigations. The Pet Rescue Grant, made possible by the generosity of the charity’s supporters, continues to make a difference to animals in need.

Harney encourages everyone to support their local rescue by adopting, volunteering, or donating. For more information about Naturewatch Foundation’s work for animals, visit naturewatch.org.
