LHP’s Prestigious Recruitment Drive Establishes a New Benchmark for Hiring in Social Housing

Lincolnshire Housing Partnership (LHP) is delighted to have been named ‘Recruitment or Retention Campaign of the Year’ at the prestigious Affordable Housing Awards. The honour recognises the organisation’s commitment to attracting and retaining top talent, allowing it to provide great homes in strong communities.

LHP focuses on a customer-centric approach when recruiting, providing tailored guidance and support to potential employees, as well as interviewing coaching for internal candidates. The organisation also engages with local schools, colleges and restart schemes to encourage future generations to pursue rewarding careers in social housing.

This approach has resulted in a notable reduction in agency spend, averaging £140,000 per year, due to the internalisation of the recruitment process.

Bruce Moore, CEO of Housing 21 and one of the judges at the Affordable Housing Awards, praised two key aspects of LHP’s campaign: its customer-first approach and its engagement with the local community.

Accepting the award, Gary Frobisher, Talent & Acquisition Manager said: “This recognition is testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire Talent Acquisition team. We are committed to attracting and retaining the best possible talent to help LHP continue to provide high-quality housing services to our communities.”

LHP’s award-winning campaign serves as an example for other housing associations looking to optimise their talent acquisition strategies. By putting the candidate experience first, engaging with the local community, and managing recruitment costs, LHP has set a successful model for the social housing sector.
